AfterAction AI provides:

  • Crisis support routing and mental health resources

Our platform is designed to help you discover benefits you may qualify for. It is not a substitute for professional advice from the VA, military legal counsel, financial advisors, or mental health professionals.

3. Free Service

AfterAction AI is provided free of charge. We do not charge users for access to any features or services. This free service is provided "as is" without guarantees of income, benefit approval, or outcomes.

4. No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

  • You will be approved for any benefit we recommend
  • Our recommendations are 100% accurate or complete
  • The platform will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Any specific outcome or benefit amount

Benefits eligibility is determined solely by the relevant agency (VA, state, nonprofit). Always verify information directly with official sources.

5. Not Affiliated with Government

AfterAction AI is not:

  • Affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Affiliated with the Department of Defense
  • A government agency or official VA service
  • A law firm or able to provide legal advice
  • A medical provider or mental health professional

6. AI-Generated Content and Document Templates

Our platform uses artificial intelligence to provide recommendations, generate action plans, and produce document templates (including but not limited to wills, powers of attorney, letters, personal statements, and resumes). AI-generated content may:

  • Contain inaccuracies, incomplete information, or outdated details
  • Miss benefits, programs, or legal requirements you qualify for or are subject to
  • Not reflect your specific state's laws or regulations
  • Require review and verification before use

Document templates are starting points only. They are AI-generated, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and must be reviewed by a qualified professional (attorney, financial advisor, medical provider, etc.) before use. Generated documents do not create any legal, financial, medical, or professional relationship between you and AfterAction AI.

Always verify AI-generated benefits plans and documents with official sources (VA, state veteran agencies, VSOs, licensed professionals).

7. User Accounts

Certain features of AfterAction AI — including document template generation, saved action plans, and profile-based services — require you to create an account. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information during registration
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for unauthorized purposes.

8. User Responsibilities

By using AfterAction AI, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information about your military service
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent security measures or damage the platform
  • Not use the service to harm others or engage in illegal activity
  • Not upload malware, viruses, or harmful content

9. Third-Party AI Processing

AfterAction AI uses two AI providers to power its services. When you use AI features, your conversation input and any document content you share is processed by:

  • Anthropic Claude — Text conversations, benefits analysis, and document generation
  • OpenAI GPT-4o Realtime — Voice-based conversations

10. Document Upload and Security

If you upload documents (DD-214, medical records, etc.):

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload them
  • Documents are transmitted securely to our AI provider (Anthropic Claude) for processing — AfterActionAI.org does not permanently store document content on its servers
  • Document content is used only to provide benefits guidance and is not retained beyond the active session
  • Uploaded documents are not reviewed by humans unless required for safety or legal compliance
  • We recommend redacting sensitive information (SSN, account numbers) before uploading

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterAction AI, its officers, directors, volunteers, and partners are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of income, benefits, or business opportunities
  • Errors or omissions in AI-generated recommendations, documents, or information
  • Missed benefits, incorrect eligibility guidance, or incomplete recommendations
  • Reliance on AI-generated templates, action plans, or reports without independent professional review
  • Service interruptions or technical failures
  • Any damages arising from use of the platform, including use of generated documents

You acknowledge that AfterAction AI provides tools and information for guidance purposes only, and that you are solely responsible for verifying all outputs and seeking qualified professional advice before acting on any recommendation or using any generated document.

12. Termination of Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Engage in illegal activity through the platform
  • Attempt to harm the platform or other users

13. Modification of Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Florida.
